You are cordially invited to step off the straight road for one evening, and into the depths of the Whisperwood, where lanterns behave like stars and time behaves like a rumor. Come as a stranger worth meeting twice.
A few small courtesies, so the Wood does not have to teach them to you the hard way: Bring a costume, whether stitched by your own hands or purchased with coin, favor, or cleverness. Bring a mask, whether you carve it, paint it, or pick it out from a shelf that promises nothing except possibility. Bring dancing, whether learned in a lesson, practiced in a kitchen, or memorized by counting until the steps stop arguing with your feet. And for those arriving in pairs: if you choose to match, do it with intent. Not “similar,” not “close enough.” I mean matching in the way a duet matches, in the way a constellation matches, in the way a good lie matches the truth. If you do, I will judge you personally, and the best-matched pair may leave with a prize worth the effort. If you are asked who you are, answer with what you can afford to become for a night. For any of these threads to count toward the optional prize, reply to this thread with links to each thread. And don't forget to claim them as completed If couples show up in matching looks, Astrid will judge them IC, and staff will award a prize to the best-matched pair.
